Veteran cornerback Brandon Flowers announced his retirement from the NFL with an Instagram post on Tuesday.

Just want to say thanks to the Hunt and Spanos family for allowing me to represent there franchises during my NFL career. Thanks to my family, friends, and fans that supported me throughout my career. Can't wait to move on to the things I have in place for me for this next chapter in my life TM3/4

The former second-round draft pick of the Kansas City Chiefs spent six years with K.C. and his last three seasons with the San Diego Chargers. He was released by the Chargers in March and had failed to catch on with another team ahead of the 2017 season.

Flowers retires with 487 career tackles, 21 interceptions, and four touchdowns.
