India: 11 diphtheria cases confirmed in Karnataka

The confirmation of 11 diphtheria cases in the district of Raichur in the south Indian state of Karnataka has caused some concern to health authorities. The Hindu reports 33 suspected cases with symptoms of diphtheria were swabbed and tested and 11 were confirmed positive.
