The Arizona Cardinals have agreed to terms on a contract with free-agent guard Alex Boone, the player's agents announced Tuesday.

The contract is a one-year deal, a source told Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio.

Boone was released by the Minnesota Vikings on Saturday, one season into his four-year contract. The 30-year-old started 14 games for the Vikings in 2016, and had previously been a regular starter for the San Francisco 49ers from 2012-15.

The veteran interior lineman will likely compete with 2016 fourth-round pick Evan Boehm for the Cardinals' starting right guard spot. Boone will be reunited with fellow former 49ers blocker Mike Iupati, who is the Cardinals' starting left guard.
