Kyle Shanahan is still new to this whole NFL head coach thing.
The San Francisco 49ers coach told reporters Wednesday that Brian Hoyer and Joe Staley are the only offensive starters he'll confirm for Sunday's season opener, before breaking the usual rigidity of NFL press conferences with some candor.
"I don't mean to be a dick," said Shanahan, laughing and covering his mic.
