Titans' Mariota day to day with strained hamstring
Marcus Mariota has avoided major injury.
The Tennessee Titans quarterback is considered day to day with a strained hamstring, head coach Mike Mularkey said at his Monday press conference. The coach could take right up until gametime of Week 5 to determine his starter.
"I'm going to take it day by day with Marcus and make sure we're smart with him," Mularkey said.
Mariota left Sunday's game against the Houston Texans with a hamstring injury and was slated to undergo an MRI to determine its severity.
Backup QB Matt Cassel replaced Mariota and Mularkey said the team could look at bringing aboard another quarterback as a precaution.
The Titans were blown out by the Texans 57-14, and Tennessee's two touchdowns were by way of Mariota runs. They'll face the Miami Dolphins next week.
