Titans sign depth QB Brandon Weeden
The Tennessee Titans signed free-agent quarterback Brandon Weeden on Tuesday with starter Marcus Mariota considered day to day with a strained hamstring.
Tennessee was rumored to have worked out Weeden and fellow free-agent passers Matt Barkley, Matt McGloin, and T.J. Yates on Tuesday, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, after Mariota exited Sunday's game with the injury.
If Mariota isn't able to play in Week 5 versus the Miami Dolphins, the Titans would need another quarterback behind backup Matt Cassel.
Weeden last threw a pass in 2015. Tennessee would be the 33-year-old's fourth stop since being drafted by the Cleveland Browns in 2012.
In relief of Mariota, Cassel went 4-for-10 with two interceptions in a Week 4 blowout loss to the Houston Texans.
