Texans' Watson among Week 4 Players of the Week
Deshaun Watson is the first Houston Texans rookie quarterback to win an Offensive Player of the Week Award after matching the all-time rookie record with five total touchdowns in the Texans' rout of the Tennessee Titans. Watson threw for four touchdowns and ran for his second rushing touchdown of the season, in just his third career start.
Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end Cameron Heyward is the AFC Defensive Player of the Week, recording two sacks, a forced fumble, and four combined tackles in a 26-9 stomping of division rival Baltimore Ravens. It was just the second multi-sack game for Heyward in the past three seasons.
Kicker Stephen Hauschka joins Bruce Smith and Cornelius Bennett as just the third Buffalo Bills player to win two consecutive Player of the Week Awards. Hauschka converted two field goals of more than 50 yards for the second straight game, and he's now a perfect 8-for-8 since missing his lone attempt in the Bills' season opener.
NFCLos Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley followed up a September Player of the Month Award by winning the first Player of the Week Award for October. Gurley was held without a rushing touchdown for the first time all season, but he added a receiving score for the third consecutive week. Gurley ran for 100 yards for the second consecutive game, setting a new season-high of 121 yards.
Julius Peppers won his seventh career Defensive Player of the Week Award - the most for any active player. The Carolina Panthers defensive end recorded his second two-sack game of the season, helping the Panthers to a 33-30 road upset over Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.
Los Angeles Rams kicker Greg Zuerlein went 7-for-7 in Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys, doubling his three-week total and moving to 14-for-14 on field goal attempts this season. Zuerlein made all four of his attempts between the 40- and 49-yard lines, while adding two extra points. Zuerlein's 56 points on the season put him 14 clear of teammate Gurley for the NFL lead.
