Bengals' Boyd refutes, then deletes, involvement in July car crash

Cincinnati Bengals receiver Tyler Boyd is facing two drug-related charges from a July traffic collision, though he tweeted Thursday that he wasn't involved in the matter.

Boyd was charged with possession of THC and not being registered to have a controlled substance after police arrived at the scene following the crash, according to Pennsylvania court records obtained by ESPN's Katherine Terrell.

The 2016 second-round pick tweeted Thursday that he "wasn't present at the crash nor did (I) have anything to do with it period. It was just my car." However, Boyd deleted the tweet soon after.

Police records show no one was in the car when authorities arrived after the accident, but several bottles of alcohol and THC vape pens were found inside.

The Bengals released a brief statement Wednesday, saying they are "working to gather more information." After playing in every game of his rookie season, Boyd was a healthy inactive in Week 2 against the Houston Texans.
