Peterson to wear No. 23 with Cardinals

It might be harder to spot Adrian Peterson when he takes the field for the Arizona Cardinals.

Peterson will be wearing No. 23 with Arizona instead of his usual 28.

Cardinals special teams ace Justin Bethel currently wears 28, so Peterson is taking Chris Johnson's number, as he was cut to make room for the veteran running back.

Peterson may not be disappointed, though, as he considered changing his number to 23 back in 2012 when he was with the Minnesota Vikings. The league informed Peterson he would have to buy all the unsold No. 28 jerseys to make the switch, which would have cost him around $1 million, so he opted to pass.
