Philadelphia Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins told Bob Glauber of Newsday that Colin Kaepernick was invited to a meeting between several players and owners regarding the national anthem Tuesday, but the free-agent quarterback's lawyer asserts he wasn't asked to attend by the NFL or team executives.

A statement from lawyer Mark Geragos notes players wanted Kaepernick to attend, and he is open to future participation in league discussions.
