A thick fog descended on Gillette Stadium on Sunday night, forcing NBC's television production crew to use a vertical camera angle, rather than the standard side angle, so TV viewers could see the action on the field in the Super Bowl LI rematch.

This view, reminiscent of the Madden video game series, proved very popular with fans and media alike watching the game and following along on Twitter:

This camera angle looks familiar... #ATLvsNE

It's like playing madden as Tom Brady with this camera angle.

This camera angle is amazing.. so cool to see the plays develop from the point of view of the QB. They should use it a lot more #SNF

i would be fine with using the skycam for all plays always

We are seeing the future viewing angle of NFL and college football. It's so much better.

- Sage Rosenfels (@SageRosenfels18) October 23, 2017

NBC is using 2 sky cams for the first time ever tonight. Timely

Perhaps this is something we'll see a lot more of in the future.
