Philadelphia Eagles left tackle Jason Peters sustained an MCL tear in his right knee during Monday's win over the Washington Redskins, but will still undergo tests to confirm the injury, a source told Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer.

In more positive news, the Eagles believe Peters' ACL remains intact after he needed to be carted off the field with his leg in an air cast, a source told Adam Schefter of ESPN.

An extended absence for the nine-time Pro Bowler would be a massive blow to the red-hot Eagles, whose fifth-straight win Monday propelled them to a league-best 6-1 record. The 35-year-old Peters has been his usual dominant self in 2017, allowing just one sack in seven games.

Halapoulivaati Vaitai replaced Peters against the Redskins and could take over the spot long term. Flipping right tackle Lane Johnson - pegged as Peters' eventual replacement - is also an option for Philadelphia.
