Report: Kaepernick receives $1M book deal
Colin Kaepernick is now gainfully employed, even if it's not in professional football.
Kaepernick has received a book deal worth $1 million from Random House affiliate One World, reports Ian Mohr of the New York Post's Page Six.
The former San Francisco 49ers quarterback was the first player to protest racial inequality and police brutality during the national anthem, and several players followed suit during the 2016 season.
Protests during the anthem have been amplified this season. President Donald Trump asked owners to fire players who continue to protest during the anthem in a September rally, and his comments spurred several players and teams to protest after being initially hesitant.
Kaepernick's representatives wouldn't comment on the reported book deal.
