Seahawks' Lacy to see heavy workload vs. Redskins
Since Chris Carson went down with a broken leg, the Seattle Seahawks haven't been able to mine anything out of their remaining running backs.
Eddie Lacy, Thomas Rawls, J.D. McKissic, and C.J. Prosise have all had their turn, but the Seahawks are settling on one for their Week 9 matchup against the Washington Redskins.
"Going to see a lot of Eddie this week," head coach Pete Carroll said of Lacy, according to Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times.
We're going to start with Eddie and let him go a little bit and see where it goes from there," added offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell.
The Seahawks currently own the league's 21st-ranked rushing attack, but much of those yards come from Carson and quarterback Russell Wilson, the team's second-leading rusher.
| Player | Att | Yds | Yds/Att | TD |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Carson | 49 | 208 | 4.2 | 0 |
| Wilson | 36 | 194 | 5.4 | 1 |
| Lacy | 42 | 108 | 2.6 | 0 |
| Rawls | 30 | 59 | 2.0 | 0 |
| McKissic | 13 | 54 | 4.2 | 1 |
| Prosise | 8 | 20 | 2.5 | 0 |
Carroll believes it's high time the team settles on one rusher. Lacy will be that man Sunday.
"I don't feel like we have been in a rhythm," Carroll said. "I think I've held them back a little bit by spreading it around quite a bit and trying to figure that out. So as we zero in (on) the second half, hopefully we are going to make some headway."
