Andy Reid not considering benching Alex Smith

The Kansas City Chiefs have lost five of their last six games, and quarterback Alex Smith struggled once again in Sunday's 16-10 defeat to the Buffalo Bills, throwing for 199 yards, one touchdown, and an interception.

Now at 6-5 and barely clinging to their division lead, it's a far departure from when the Chiefs were 5-0 and the talk of the NFL.

Despite the downturn, Chiefs coach Andy Reid isn't considering a quarterback change.

"That's not where I'm at right now," Reid said in his postgame press conference. "We've got a couple other things to take care of."

In their past two games, the Chiefs have managed just 19 points combined against the Bills and Giants, who both feature below-average defenses.

But rather than singling out his quarterback, Reid said there's plenty of blame to go around.

"Everybody's got a piece," the coach added. "I can do a better job of putting (Smith) in better positions to make plays. The offensive line can block better and receivers, you know, every catch isn't going to be an easy catch. So we've all got a little of this."
