New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick walked up to Sean McDermott after Sunday's clash and apologized for Rob Gronkowski's illegal hit that left Buffalo Bills cornerback Tre'Davious White concussed.

White was lying on the ground after recording an interception when Gronkowski dove on him and delivered an elbow to the back of his head. Gronkowski received an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty but no further sanction.

"I understand, it was bullshit. I'm sorry, I apologize" Belichick said as he embraced the Bills head coach, before departing the field.
