Alectra Inc. adds Guelph Hydro to its growing utility company

In a 10-3 vote after over six hours of public delegations and questions, politicians agreed after midnight to a merger with Alectra citing a hefty $18.5 million initial dividend the city will receive, while also providing more efficient service and lower rates for its residents.
