New York Giants cornerback Eli Apple is hoping to put a mistake he made in last week's loss to the Dallas Cowboys behind him and get back on the field Sunday versus the Philadelphia Eagles.

Apple was fined an undisclosed amount by the Giants for tweeting on the sideline after being made an inactive for a fourth consecutive week.

The coaching staff is yet to inform Apple on his status for Sunday, but he doesn't think last week's matter should factor into their decision.

"Of course. I'm blessed to be where I am right now," Apple said, according to Jordan Raanan of ESPN. "I appreciate everything being here, alive. Football is something I love to do. It's a blessing. You don't want to take it for granted. I definitely want to be here, to be honest."

The use of social media or networking sites by coaches and players during games is prohibited by league rules, but the NFL didn't issue any further punishment on Apple since only one of either the team or league can issue a fine for each violation.
