Report: Texans add cancer-free Quessenberry to active roster for 1st time
The Houston Texans have added offensive guard David Quessenberry to the active roster ahead of their Week 16 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to ESPN's Field Yates.
Drafted by the Texans in the sixth round of the 2013 draft, Quessenberry is yet to play an NFL game, after being diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in June 2014.
Quessenberry returned to practice this past May, after being declared cancer-free in April. After spending his entire career to date on injured reserve or the non-football illness list, Quessenberry was released and then re-signed to the Texans' practice squad ahead of the 2017 season. The 27-year-old seems in line to play his first game this weekend, with the Texans sporting a 4-10 record and out of the playoff picture.
