The Tennessee Titans ruled out running back DeMarco Murray for Sunday's regular-season finale against the Jacksonville Jaguars due to a knee injury.

Murray was diagnosed with a third-degree MCL tear suffered in a Week 16 loss to the Los Angeles Rams, but he was expected to suit up for a pivotal Week 17 matchup against the AFC South rival Jaguars.

The Titans can book their first trip to the playoffs since 2008 with a victory. Otherwise, they'll need help in the form of losses or ties by the Buffalo Bills and Los Angeles Chargers.

Murray has started all 15 games this season, rushing for 659 yards and six touchdowns on 184 attempts. He's added 266 receiving yards and another touchdown on 39 receptions.

Sophomore running back Derrick Henry will take on a larger role, and is scheduled to start with Murray sidelined. He's rushed for 693 yards and five touchdowns on 148 attempts this season, with another 70 yards on 10 receptions.
