Report: Bengals' Lewis to pursue front-office role or coaching job with another team

Marvin Lewis' tenure as head coach of the Cincinnati Bengals will come to an end after Sunday's season finale. After 15 years as the Bengals' head man, Lewis is expected to either transition to a front-office role - or even a position at the league office - or pursue a coaching job with another team, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.

The Bengals have followed up a disappointing 6-9-1 campaign in 2016 with another dud in 2017. They currently stand at 6-9 entering their Week 17 game with the Baltimore Ravens.

Though Lewis has been credited with turning around a once woebegone franchise, he owns a career 0-7 playoff record.

As a result, the team and coach are expected to mutually agree to part ways, though Lewis could move into a front-office role with the team. There remains a chance he could work for the league office, Rapoport reports.

However, should he choose to remain in the coaching ranks, he would emerge as a leading candidate for any upcoming coaching vacancies.
