The Arizona Cardinals have made several interview requests as they look for their next head coach.

Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians announced his retirement Monday, stepping down after five seasons, and the organization is trying to attract numerous top candidates to replace him.

Arizona requested interviews with Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz and New England Patriots defensive coordinator Matt Patricia, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the team has added Patriots' linebackers coach Brian Flores to their list of candidates as well.

Schwartz has previous head coaching experience, posting a 29-51 record with the Detroit Lions from 2009-13.

The Cardinals also requested an interview with Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur, sources told Rapoport.

Arizona also requested an interview with Philadelphia Eagles quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo, a source told Mike Garafolo. DeFilippo will interview with the Chicago Bears as well.

Shurmur, who was promoted from tight ends coach to offensive coordinator in November 2016, has previous head coaching experience with the Cleveland Browns, posting a 9-23 record from 2011-12.

Flores has spent his entire 13-year career with the Patriots, wearing a variety of different hats from scout to safeties coach. He held the latter position from 2012 to 2015 before getting the bump to linebackers coach.
