LeSean McCoy is feeling more optimistic about his chances of playing this Sunday in the Buffalo Bills' first playoff game since 1999 after suffering an ankle injury in the regular-season finale.

"It wasn't as bad as I thought," the veteran running back said of the injury when speaking to media on Thursday.

However, cautioned McCoy, "I got a lot more room for improvement, especially for where I want to be at."

The ninth-year pro had his walking boot removed, but expressed concern he may not be able to cut while running like he typically does should he play Sunday. McCoy didn't participate in practice Wednesday or Thursday and is expected to be a game-time decision against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

McCoy has been the leading force of the Bills' offense this season, rushing for 1,138 yards and catching 59 passes for 448 yards with eight total touchdowns.
