HavliAek, because of his liberal ideas and courageous fight for freedom, was accused of violating the press law. He was freed by the local court but the story did not end there. One month later he was arrested by police - without any charge or trial - and deported. For his ideas, which he expressed so brightly and clearly, and the criticism aimed at the government, he was meant to spend the rest of his life in exile.
