Report: Titans to interview Texans' Vrabel for HC job
The Tennessee Titans have identified an initial candidate for their vacant head coaching position, scheduling an interview with Houston Texans defensive coordinator Mike Vrabel, reports John McClain of the Houston Chronicle.
Mike Mularkey was fired from the position Monday.
Vrabel has been on the Texans' coaching staff since 2014, serving one year as defensive coordinator. He spent eight seasons as a linebacker for the New England Patriots and has a relationship with Titans general manager Jon Robinson, who also worked for the franchise during that time.
Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels could also be a candidate for the job as he was believed to have viewed the Titans as his preferable destination prior to being linked to the Indianapolis Colts' head coaching position, reports Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
