The Denver Broncos won't be deterred from drafting Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield because of his relative lack of height, head coach Vance Joseph indicated Tuesday.

"I think that's fine," Joseph said at the Senior Bowl when asked about Mayfield's 6-foot-1 frame, according to The Denver Post's Nicki Jhabvala. "You watch Drew Brees play, he's figured it out. He's a very successful quarterback. Guys figure it out. Good players figure it out. I wouldn't be concerned about that."

Mayfield posted prolific numbers in college, but his size continues to serve as a topic of great debate within the scouting community. During last year's draft process, Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson said he'd want any quarterback he drafts to be at least 6-foot-2.

Brees and the Seattle Seahawks' Russell Wilson are among the shorter quarterbacks to find great success in the NFL despite early-career criticism.

The Broncos hold the fifth overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.
