Peterson wants to play '4-5 more years'

Arizona Cardinals running back Adrian Peterson is aware of reports that the team may cut him this offseason, but it won't affect his desire to keep playing.

"I know I can play. If you watch football, as far as being an evaluator of talent, if a guy has something left in the tank ... he was able to see (I) can still play the game. " I would want to play maybe four more years, four to five more years," Peterson said, according to Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Peterson has one year remaining on the two-year, $7-million contract he signed with the New Orleans Saints last year, but the Cards can cut him without being charged with any dead cap.

Set to turn 33 years old in mid-March, Peterson hit a resurgence in Arizona, following a release from the Saints after just four games played.

He racked up 448 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 129 carries for the Cardinals, adding 66 yards on nine receptions. He recorded more than 130 rushing yards in two of his six games after failing to top 33 yards in his failed stint with the Saints.
