Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles was named Super Bowl LII MVP after leading his team to a 41-33 victory over the New England Patriots.

Foles completed 28 of 43 passes for 373 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception. He also caught a 1-yard touchdown pass from Trey Burton on a trick play.

The veteran quarterback was thrust into the starting role when Carson Wentz suffered a torn ACL in December, and he went on to outperform even the loftiest of expectations.

Foles has certainly experienced one of the oddest career paths in recent memory. The 29-year-old was named to the Pro Bowl in 2013 during his first stint with the Eagles and also tied the NFL record by throwing seven touchdowns in a single game that year. Now, after starting this season as the backup quarterback, he's the Super Bowl MVP.
