Report: Colts agree to 5-year deal with Frank Reich as head coach
The Indianapolis Colts will hire Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Frank Reich as their new head coach, as the two sides agreed to terms on a five-year deal, a source told NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
Reich will be hired out of a pool of candidates that included Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier and New Orleans Saints assistant head coach/tight ends coach Dan Campbell.
It's the second major coaching hit the Super Bowl champions have taken this week. Philadelphia's quarterbacks coach, John DeFilippo, was hired as offensive coordinator by the Minnesota Vikings.
The Colts had previously received a verbal commitment from New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels to become their head coach, but he reneged on the agreement after the Colts had already announced the hiring in order to remain in his role with the Patriots.
