The Minnesota Vikings have restructured running back Latavius Murray's deal, guaranteeing his reduced base salary, and will allow him to test the free-agent market after the 2018 season, the Star Tribune's Ben Goessling reports.

Murray's former $5.15-million base salary would have become fully guaranteed on the third day of the league year, Goessling notes. The team parted ways with wide receiver Jarius Wright on Friday, which reportedly saved Minnesota $2.64 million in cap space.

Murray, 28, joined the Vikings last offseason on a three-year deal worth around $15 million. He compiled 842 rushing yards and eight touchdowns on 216 carries in his first campaign in purple and gold.
