Jaguars' Ramsey: Derwin James should go No. 1 in NFL Draft

Perhaps NFL front offices should listen to Jalen Ramsey.

The talented corner, who declared himself the best player in the 2016 NFL Draft after being selected fifth overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars, attached the same label to fellow Florida State product and defensive back Derwin James.

"(He's the) top player in this draft this year. Should go No. 1 overall, but you know how things go in the draft," Ramsey told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. "You never know where he could go ... top five, top 10, top 15 ... Jags hoping we can come here and get him."

Considering James' skillset, it's highly unlikely Ramsey gets his wish, as the defensive back will presumably be gone by the time the Jaguars select at 28. A potential top-10 draft pick, James - taking one out of Ramsey's book - sung his own praise, particularly when asked about certain media outlets slotting defensive back and Alabama product Minkah Fitzpatrick ahead of him.

"I know what type of player I am. I know I'm the best player in this draft."

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Chicago Bears, and San Francisco 49ers at No. 7 to No. 9 appear to be the most logical landing spot for James on April 26 in Arlington, Texas.
