Veteran edge rusher Robert Quinn isn't thrilled about being traded abruptly from the Rams - a team he spent seven seasons with - amid their bold 2018 offseason.

"(I was) pretty much shocked, honestly," Quinn, who was sent to the Dolphins in March, told the Miami Herald's Armando Salguero. "You commit yourself to someone and you have your family turn their back on you."

The 2011 first-round pick appears to be holding a grudge against his former club, but he's excited for a fresh start in Miami. Per Salguero, Quinn called the move "a breath of fresh air," adding that he was "suffocating" with the Rams.

"I'm not a West Coast guy, put it that way," he said.

The main reason Quinn has welcomed a move to Miami is the change in defensive scheme. The 27-year-old played outside linebacker in Los Angeles but will move back to defensive end with the Dolphins. He's more comfortable with his hands in the dirt.

"If you want to get a better get off, you do it in the three-point stance," he said.

Quinn accumulated 8.5 sacks last season, his highest total since 2014. He'll pair with fellow veteran Cameron Wake to form an experienced and productive edge-rushing duo in Miami.
