Aldon Smith arrested for 3rd time in 2 months

Former Oakland Raiders and San Francisco 49ers defender Aldon Smith was arrested for the third time in two months and is being held on $500,000 bond by the San Francisco Sheriff's department, according to ESPN.

Smith was arraigned on Thursday with three charges of violating a protective order, which stems from his domestic violence charge on March 12. He had been ordered to wear an ankle monitor that measured alcohol use through sweat. The 28-year-old was booked for violating a condition of his electronic monitoring, according to a Sheriff's spokesperson.

The former first-round pick's fiancee, who he had been initially arrested for abusing, told TMZ Sports that the two are "no longer together."

Smith was released by the Raiders after being charged with domestic violence. He last played for the Raiders during the 2015 season and is currently suspended by the league stemming from a hit-and-run incident in August 2015.
