The Jaguars have backed off from the bold.

Jacksonville unveiled its new uniform collection Thursday, featuring block numbers and the return of the black helmet. The new set includes an all-white look, black home jerseys, and a teal alternate that can be worn twice during the season and another time under the Color Rush campaign.

The new unis feature 10-inch block numbers on the front, 12-inch numbers on the back, and a Jaguars logo over the heart.

"True to our current identity and what we want to represent for years to come, our new uniforms are no-nonsense, all business, and unmistakably Jaguars," owner Shad Khan said in a release. "Tradition has returned to Jacksonville."

The changes came after an experiment with a two-tone gold-and-black helmet - introduced in 2013 - that was widely panned.

The Jaguars unveiled their new look during a state-of-the-franchise address Thursday morning after a banner showing the new duds was installed at a Jacksonville airport Wednesday night. Jaguars president Mark Lamping chalked the early reveal up to a miscommunication.
