New Washington Redskins running back Derrius Guice is looking for an explanation as to why he fell all the way to the No. 59 overall pick, after he entered the draft with widespread speculation that he'd be the second running back off the board.

"It did surprise me because a lot of the things came out of nowhere and weren't true," Guice said on a conference call Friday, according to ESPN. "I just didn't understand why me, out of all people, because I'm great to everybody, I have a great personality and I just didn't understand why everything just hit so hard with me out of everybody."

Guice, who rushed for 1,153 yards and 11 touchdowns at LSU last season, is happy to be done with the draft process and says he's ready to get started on his career.

"I'm just thankful this whole process is over and I'm with an organization that believes in me and trusted in me, and I'm just ready to get to work," Guice said.
