Peterson believes he's still NFL's best RB, vows to help win championship

With seven Pro Bowls, three rushing titles, and an MVP award to his name, it's hard to fault Adrian Peterson for being abundantly confident.

Peterson's 2017 season didn't go as planned, faltering with the New Orleans Saints before being traded to the Cardinals. Arizona released Peterson in March and he remains unsigned.

That won't deter Peterson from attempting a comeback, however, as he's intent on winning a Super Bowl in 2018.

"I'm healthy and I'm ready to roll," Peterson told NFL.com's Tom Pelissero. "If you want someone to help you win a championship and be productive - be very productive - you know how to contact me."

Peterson was arguably the defining running back of his generation, becoming the last of seven power backs to top 2,000 yards in a season, steering the Minnesota Vikings to the playoffs in 2012.

Although Peterson hasn't topped the 1,000-yard mark since 2015, he's still under the impression that few can beat him at his best.

"For whatever reason, it just didn't work out (in New Orleans), but when I got my shot in Arizona, I showed what I was able to do," Peterson said. "I know once I get back out there, I'll be blessed with a healthy season and show people I'm still the best in the league."

At 33, Peterson may be a hard sell for teams, but his veteran experience may lend itself to an experienced group looking for another rotational back who can contribute to a deep playoff run.
