Dez Bryant is no longer with the Dallas Cowboys, but their coaching staff is still talking about him.

Bryant, who had spent his entire career with the Cowboys prior to being released on April 13, recorded 69 catches for 838 yards and six touchdowns last season, but it wasn't enough for the franchise to retain him.

Although Bryant is a free agent, Cowboys wide receivers coach Sanjay Lal noted that No. 88 wasn't close to approaching Pro Bowl form in 2017.

"I still saw he's physical and violent at the route top," Lal said of Bryant to Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News. "He's still one of the best slant runners in the league.

"Without getting into specifics, I just saw more inconsistencies in his game."

Lal was asked to specify how or when Bryant was inconsistent, but he declined.

"I really don't want to get into specifics in that, but a general feeling," he said.

Bryant has yet to sign with a new team since his release.
