The Tuscaloosa district attorney's office announced Friday that the misdemeanor marijuana charge against San Francisco 49ers linebacker Reuben Foster has been dismissed, according to Matt Barrows of The Sacramento Bee.

Foster completed a diversion course before the charge was done away with.

The district attorney's decision caps a crucial week for Foster, who previously had domestic violence charges dismissed after his ex-girlfriend revealed she fabricated the claims in an attempt to ruin his career.

Though he no longer has to worry about the marijuana charge, Foster could still be subject to NFL discipline under the substance abuse policy.

Foster enjoyed a stellar rookie campaign for the 49ers last year, registering 72 tackles in 10 games.
