Colts' Brissett relishing Reich's play-calling
Should Indianapolis Colts backup quarterback Jacoby Brissett be called upon to play again in 2018, he'll do so feeling much better about the offense he finds himself in.
Brissett heaped praise on new head coach Frank Reich and can pinpoint the offense's biggest improvement under the former Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator.
"The play-calling. It's no knock on anybody. But that's what makes offenses different. We're all running the same plays to get in the end zone," Brissett said, per Stephen Holder of the Indy Star. "It's just how you call them and when you call them."
Brissett is in his first full offseason as a member of the team, having been acquired from the New England Patriots last September.
While the Colts are expecting Andrew Luck to return from his shoulder injury in time for the upcoming campaign, Brissett feels as though he'll be better prepared if called upon again.
"It's great because I get to go out there and practice with the guys and do the stuff that I'm going to do (during the season)," Brissett said. "Last year, I got traded in the beginning of the year so it was kind of hard. But no excuse. Now I get to practice the reps and the plays with the same guys."
Brissett posted 3,098 passing yards, 13 touchdowns, and seven interceptions in 16 games - 15 starts - last season, adding another 260 yards and four scores on the ground.
