White House confirms Eagles will visit June 5
The White House confirmed Wednesday that the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles will visit President Donald Trump on June 5, according to John Ourand of Sports Business Journal.
The invitation to the NFC team had already been extended, though several notable players, such as Chris Long and Malcolm Jenkins, have said they won't be joining their teammates in Washington.
Eagles head coach Doug Pederson said he believes the visit should be "an individual decision" for his players.
It was unclear if the Eagles would continue the tradition of visiting the White House after team owner Jeffery Lurie recently labeled Trump's time in office as a "disastrous presidency."
