Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said Monday the team has no long-term concerns with linebacker Clay Matthews' nose injury, which he sustained during a charity softball game Saturday.

"They're talking about scheduling surgery probably midweek," McCarthy said prior to Monday's OTA workout, according to Mike Spofford of the Packers' official site. "It's unfortunate. It's for a great cause. We're just glad he's OK."

Matthews went to the emergency room for a broken nose after taking a line drive off his face. He's apparently in good enough health that his head coach felt comfortable poking fun at his star pass-rusher's unfortunate injury.

"I think he needs to work on his off-hand, mitt-side. That's what the tape showed me," McCarthy joked, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
