Free-agent Decker: 'I think the Patriots would be a good fit'
Free-agent wide receiver Eric Decker hasn't received much reported interest this offseason, but there is a potential landing spot that intrigues him.
"I think the Patriots would be a good fit and being drafted by Josh McDaniels in Denver. I talked with New England last year during the free-agency process in June. That is always an option that I would definitely love to entertain," Decker said, according to SiriusXM NFL Radio.
McDaniels, the Patriots' offensive coordinator, was part of the staff that selected Decker with the 87th overall pick of the 2010 draft during his brief stint as the Broncos' head coach.
Decker spent the 2017 season with Tennessee Titans, but said that at this point in his career he wants to go somewhere he can compete for a Super Bowl.
The 31-year-old played all 16 regular-season games and both playoff games last season. He totaled 54 receptions for 563 yards and a single touchdown in the regular season, adding eight postseason catches for 106 yards and another score.
