The Philadelphia Flyers officially welcomed back James van Riemsdyk to the City of Brotherly Love on Sunday, as the big winger agreed to a five-year contract, the team announced.
The pact is worth $35 million, reports Stephen Whyno of The Associated Press.
Philadelphia drafted van Riemsdyk second overall in 2007 and shipped him to Toronto in 2012, where he's spent the last six seasons as a mainstay in both the Maple Leafs' top-six and first power-play unit.
Van Riemsdyk, 29, netted a career-high 36 goals and added 18 assists in 81 games in 2017-18.
