LB Connor Barwin: I have offers, won't sign somewhere I can't win SB
Free-agent linebacker Connor Barwin expects to sign with a team before the start of training camps later this month. He's just going to choose his destination very carefully, with an emphasis on winning.
"We've had interest from a number of teams all offseason," Barwin said, according to SiriusXM NFL Radio. "The offers I have, I think I'll make my decision before camp starts. I'm not going to go somewhere that I don't think can win a Super Bowl."
The 31-year-old was originally selected 46th overall by the Houston Texans in the 2009 draft. He spent his first four seasons with the Texans before joining the Philadelphia Eagles for four campaigns from 2013-16. He recorded a career-high 14.5 sacks in 2014 and was subsequently named to the Pro Bowl.
The Eagles released Barwin in March 2017, in a move that cleared nearly $8 million in cap space. He then signed a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Rams and watched as his former team went on to win Super Bowl LII.
With Los Angeles, Barwin played 14 games - including 13 starts - recording five sacks. He also started the Rams' postseason loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
