Report: Rodgers extension not imminent
Matt Ryan will apparently remain the NFL's highest-paid player, for now.
Despite training camp being right around the corner, the Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rodgers have made "no meaningful progress" toward a long-term contract extension, a source told Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. The deal is widely expected to put the superstar quarterback above Ryan's $30-million-per-year mark.
Rodgers has two years and roughly a combined $40 million remaining on his current contract, far below the market value for one of the league's truly elite passers.

Nearing his 35th birthday, Rodgers could be signing the last big-money extension of his career.
The two-time MVP recently said he'd "love" to play until he was 40, following in the footsteps of Tom Brady and fellow Packers legend Brett Favre.
