The Seattle Seahawks announced the signing of Duane Brown to a multi-year contract extension Saturday.

The left tackle received a three-year extension worth $36.5 million, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. It's the second lucrative extension of his career, with the first one coming in 2012.

Brown was entering the final year of his contract, and the 32-year-old could now be in a position to finish his career with the Seahawks.

The four-time Pro-Bowler was acquired by Seattle via a trade with the Texans in October that was sparked by his holdout with Houston in 2017, which resulted in the offensive lineman missing seven games. The former first-round pick solidified a struggling Seahawks offensive line last season.

Brown's deal continues a recent trend of fruitful contracts for offensive linemen. The Tennessee Titans and Atlanta Falcons extended left tackles Taylor Lewan and Jake Matthews, respectively, Thursday.
