Bengals' Eifert passes physical, removed from PUP list
Cincinnati Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert passed his physical Monday and is expected to return to practice, the team announced.
Eifert opened training camp on the physically unable to perform list (PUP) due to a back injury, but he had the designation removed.
The soon-to-be 28-year-old has started 30 of 39 games played over his first five years in the league. He was named to the Pro Bowl in 2015, setting career bests with 52 receptions, 615 yards, and 13 touchdowns.
The No. 21 pick of the 2013 NFL Draft was re-signed to a one-year, $5.5-million contract this offseason, according to Over The Cap.
The Bengals also announced that running back Ryan Hewitt passed his physical on Monday.
