Oakville mosquito traps this week tested positive for West Nile virus (WNV) following two other finds earlier this summer in Burlington. Residents are reminded to protect themselves against bites and to remove breeding sites until the hard frosts of fall set in, in places that hold water, such as bird baths, plant pots, old toys and tires. Report standing water at public facilities or for more information, see halton.ca, call 311or email wnv@halton.ca.
