Washington Redskins rookie running back Derrius Guice will undergo an MRI on Friday to determine the severity of a knee injury he suffered in his preseason debut, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.

Guice took six carries for 19 yards Thursday night against the New England Patriots before exiting. He's a prime candidate to earn Washington's starting running back job out of training camp.

The 21-year-old didn't appear too concerned about the ailment postgame, telling NBC Sports' JP Finlay in the Redskins' locker room, "All is well."

Guice rushed for 1,251 yards and 11 touchdowns while averaging 5.5 yards per carry as a junior at LSU last year. He was selected by the Redskins in the second round of the NFL draft after sliding down the board, reportedly because of character concerns.
