Cardinals GM Keim returns to team after suspension
Arizona Cardinals general manager Steve Keim has returned to the team following a team-issued five-week suspension stemming from a DUI arrest.
Keim was suspended and fined $200,000 by the Cardinals on July 17. The money was donated to the Arizona chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD).
"I can tell you that coming away from this has made me a better man," Keim told ABC 15 on Wednesday.
Keim told reporters that he was extremely remorseful and that the suspension was a humbling experience.
"I don't think there's any feeling that's worse than feeling like you let your children down," Keim said.
Cardinals head coach Steve Wilks appeared to be enthused about Keim's return impending return earlier in the week.
"It's just going to bring some excitement with him being back," Wilks said. "And it's going to be good to see him."
Keim was named general manager in January 2013 and signed a contract extension in February that will keep him with the Cardinals through the 2022 season.
